Bottmingen

Listed in the Inventory of the Historic Preservation Department of Baselland, this 1932 Bauhaus villa underwent a complete renovation that required a careful balance of modernization with respect for its architectural heritage. The project sought to restore the home’s original character while enhancing its functionality and environmental performance. Working in close collaboration with the owners, the design reestablished the villa’s original spatial orientation. A key intervention involved reinstating the centrally located entry sequence, which had been altered during a 1970s renovation, to once again emphasize the home’s connection to its lush surrounding gardens.
